Nokia Aeon

Conceptual design by Nokia, looks pretty slick. Note that both the top and bottom portion are LCD, more likely OLED touchscreen, uses less power and is noticibly brighter. Pictures courtesy of Netfresh:

Damien Rice “9″

17 01 2007

I never post the music Im listening to, but f*ckin *A*, the new Damien Rice 9 cd is outstanding. Most people these days really don’t listen to lyrics anymore, they just like “the beat”, know what I say? …fucking simple minded idiots the ‘lot of them.

Accidental babies, elephant, and of course 9 crimes have got to be some of the best songs Ive heard from Damien since Volcano. Damn amazing lyrics…

enjoy, ;)

Kids Book, from ages 4-8…?

2 01 2007

I was reading Money Magazine and came across this book,  (Alexander, who used to be rich last sunday) …in a unique method to educate kids from ages 4-8 on how and why to save money. Basically it’s about a kid who gets a dollar from his grandparents, and plans to save the dollar for some grand item, but ends up spending the dollar and regretting it. I can’t speak for everyone, but I found it to be pretty funny that someone thinks 4 year olds have a conceptual grasp on saving money.  I should write a book, for ages 18-30, that teaches people to get a conceptual grasp on reality…most people just vacation there.

New York Times, a Father’s Last Words…

2 01 2007

A friend of mine who is a journalist emailed this link to me, very touching story, and well, since I was a soldier, it seems appropriate. Written by the wife, who also happens to be a journalist for the New York Times. It made front page on Jan 1 2007. READ IT HERE

Targeted nanotech-based treatments

2 01 2007

HERE, is an interesting read, as I left off 2006 speaking about nano-technology and it’s implications and trials in the medical field, 2007 starts off with MIT’s Technology Review article by Kevin Bullis. Keep in mind the fact that most clinical trials are not approved and ever make it to actual practice, however in recent years, many of the trials using the new technolgy is starting to gain more acceptance as “tried and true” treatments and practices.  Read it if you’ve got a moment.
