I knew that Adobe’s FLASH was CPU intensive, but I had no idea it was a major battery killer. Experimenting with it today, I realized that by turning disabling FLASH in Firefox, it increased my battery life by TWO HOURS on my Macbook Pro!

I thought it may have been coincidental so I enabled FLASH and lo and behold my battery life dropped instantly. Just one more reason to start steering clear of Adobe’s dying crutch.

To disable FLASH in firefox, simply goto TOOLS>ADD ONS> PLUGINS, and disable Shockwave FLASH. No browser restart required.
