About David Leach – “Exempt”

My name is David Leach, Ive been actively involved with the IT industry for about 16 years now, but have been using applied technology and computers for a very long time . Though I have a huge knack for technology, my workplace background falls in Online Advertising & Media. I frequent many online forums, to many to list here.  I founded Consultoria Inc. (www.ConsultoriaInc.com)  a  Advertising/Production company. I still write articles and perform reviews for several large syndicates, websites and media broadcasters, and maintain this blog and provide online help via Crossloop and any platform I can offer assistance on.

I am a US Army Veteran and following  my  military service I received my Bachelors in Business  Management ,  and  later my  Masters  in Computer Science from USC . I  started  my  first  consulting business in 2001 and after  acquiring  an  impressive  clientele  list  with such companies as Boeing,  Lockheed  Martin, Coca-Cola,  Prudential Realty, and Frito-Lay, I sold my company in 2003.

I was personally invited to Silicon Summit at Stanford University to meet and speak with Ted Waitt (2006 CEO of Gateway Computers), and Bill Gates (Microsoft) about future technologies and applications, which was  hosted by  Tom Brokaw on MSNBC.

At heart I am as they say a “true child of the internet”, my first computer was a Apple IIe, and later a Commodore 64 and Apple IIgs. I flourished in an era of 5.25 floppys and saw the introduction of the CD-ROM. I grew up playing “Below the Root” and Lode Runner, as well as some original Sierra Games, and I still love gaming today. I have a huge love for video editing, programming, creative design, web development, and all things Apple.

When I have free time, I am a complete adrenaline junkie, from skydiving, to free-diving, free-climbing, spear fishing, bull riding, but most of all… spending time with my new family.

I am not your typical geek. I have excellent hygiene and some sense of fashion. I’m currently grounded in California, but you can reach me globally.

Cheers!

    Heya Tomovich,

thanks for the comment 🙂 . I use all OS’s pretty much, linux (Slueth, Knoppix STD, SuSe 10.1, Dreamlinux, unix, Mac OS 9, Mac OSX, Windows XP pro, Windows XP media center ed, Palm OS, Pocket PC, Windows Tablet Ed. Id have to admit, that SuSe 10.1 and Knoppix STD, are probably my favorite OS’s, followed by Mac OS x, then Windows XP, and the only reason I use Windows Xp is for gaming pretty much, and a few apps here and there. I use a Macbook pro for all mac apps, and I think Ill end up getting a Intel Mac Desktop system soon as well, since Ive been pleased with Macs since I picked up my old powerbook about 2 years ago.

    Hey David,

This is Ryan. I met you at IKEA while we wait 9 years to get our replacement parts. I’ve been nice and busy with my kid, but i just wanted to drop a line. Nice little site you got going on here. Sorry about all the junk youve been going through, but as im sure you know, what doesnt kill us makes us stronger. When the pain subsides you will realize that challenges in your life that you used to struggle with, will now be blown apart by the strength you have achieved. And those around you will be supported and pulled up by the pillar of strength that you will become.

Look forward to waxing intellectual with you, we had a good discussion there in IKEA. Drop me a line.

I HAD A PROBLEM WITH WGATRAY.EXE. I READ ADVICE ON HOW TO GET RID OF IT. IT INVOLVED REGEDIT ETC. AND SEEMED TO REQUIRE A NUMBER OF RESTARTS (MY COMPUTER TAKES FOREVER TO REBOOT). I PULLED UP THE TASK MANAGER, CLICKED ON THE PROCESS TAG, LOCATED WGATRAY.EXE… I RIGHT CLICKED WGATRAY, AND SET THE PRIORITY TO LOW. I THEN RESTARTED MY MACHINE. I HAVEN’T HAD IT REAPPEAR SINCE.

Funny… just read your bio, right after commenting on Haiti, we have something in common. I spent six and half years in Dubai as the Director of Technology for a major advertising agency, covering the MENA (Middle East North Africa) region with some stints in Holland (Philips) and Germany. Then had my own company with a f’ed up british partner… the fatal mistake. Anyway, hit me up sometime, my name at netling.com.
